"wifi was solid and the outlets helped"
i booked my trip through bahn.de and the train was nicer than i expected. the wifi stayed connected for most of the ride, which was good enough for checking emails and browsing a bit. having a power outlet at my seat was super handy too since my phone was almost dead. overall it was a smooth trip and i really can’t complain

"BahnBonus points make the train costs feel a bit better"
I use bahn.de regularly for work trips, and since train tickets aren’t exactly cheap these days, I do appreciate getting something back through BahnBonus. The points usually show up after my bookings without me having to think about it, and I’ve already used some for a lounge voucher, which was surprisingly easy.
The app and website can be a bit slow or clunky sometimes, so it’s not a perfect experience. But the rewards side has worked fine for me, and even if the perks are fairly small, it still feels better than paying full price all the time and getting nothing in return.

"Booking Was Fine, the Train Apparently Wasn't"
I booked my trip through bahn.de and that part went smoothly enough, so credit where it’s due. Sadly, the train itself seemed determined to balance things out. The seats felt old and weren’t exactly built for comfort on a longer ride, unless the goal was to miss my sofa intensely. There was trash on the floor, and the toilet was definitely having a rough day. Maybe I just got unlucky, but for the price, I expected a bit more than “please endure this.” 2 stars from me

Just a heads up, the seats aren’t guaranteed. I thought we’d have a confirmed spot, but that wasn’t really the case. It was just a bit frustrating and something I wish I’d known beforehand...

"Login is fine, but the profile stuff feels clunky"
My bahn.de login works most of the time, but every now and then it randomly logs me out for no obvious reason, which feels unnecessary. Updating profile details is also more hidden than it should be and not exactly smooth. It gets the job done, but the whole account area feels a bit dated

Had a good trip today. Maybe I’m just easy to please, but the train staff seemed really calm and helpful even when it started getting busy. They came across professional without being cold, which I appreciated. no complaints from me...
"Could Be Fairer for Travelers With Bikes and Bags"
I’ll be fair — the ride itself was okay, but it really wasn’t great if you’re traveling with a bike and luggage. The bicycle area was already full, the luggage racks were tiny, and the staff didn’t seem very willing or able to help sort things out. I get that space is limited, but if bikes and bags are allowed, there should be a fair chance for passengers to actually store them safely.

I left my small backpack on an ICE train and was sure I’d never see it again, but I filled out the lost property form on Bahn that same evening just in case
A few days later I got a message saying they’d found it, and picking it up was super straightforward, the staff were really nice too, such a relief, thanks DB

I’ve used bahn.de a handful of times now and most of the time the payment goes through fine, but there was one time where my card got approved and then the page just kind of froze or got stuck and I had to go back and start the whole booking again, which was annoying because I was trying to grab the ticket quickly, but to be fair I did get it sorted in the end, so it’s not awful, just not something I’d call completely smooth or reliable every single time.

"Ticket check was fair enough"
Got my ticket checked twice during the trip, it was chill. Both times were quick, no big drama. The staff weren’t exactly all smiles or anything, but they did their thing and kept it moving.
I did see one person get fined for having the wrong ticket, and the inspector explained it clearly enough. Kinda strict, not gonna lie, but hey, rules are rules. Overall, it was an okay experience.

I used bahn for my train trip last week, and it helped more than I expected. The train times, platform details, and delay updates were all accurate, which made changing trains way less stressful. "Easy booking, but the crowding made me uneasy"
Booking through Bahn was straightforward, and the app had my trip details there when I needed them. Payment went through without any drama, and the ticket was easy to find, so that part felt reliable enough.
The actual train was a different story though. It was seriously packed, to the point where I felt a bit uncomfortable about how cramped everything was. I had a seat reservation, but just getting to my seat with people and bags blocking the aisle was stressful.
I can deal with the occasional delay, but this felt more like a capacity and planning issue. When a train is that crowded, it doesn’t just feel inconvenient, it feels like something could go wrong if people need to move quickly. Overall, not a terrible experience, but I’d be cautious booking the same route again unless they add more space or manage reservations better.

i did get wheelchair assistance, so that part was okay. but trying to find the right info on bahn.de was confusing, and it took too long to hear back from staff. it made the whole thing more stressful than it needed to be.

"I had such a frustrating time trying..."
I had such a frustrating time trying to manage my BahnCard on bahn.de. The renewal details weren’t easy to find, and the option to cancel felt like it was tucked away on purpose. Support did get back to me eventually, but it took way longer than I expected. it’s not even about the fact that it renews or that you have to cancel it in time, it’s more that the whole process feels unnecessarily complicated. It worked in the end, but it definitely wasn’t user friendly.

"Not as bad as people say, but reliability needs work"
I use bahn often, it’s not terrible. The website and app are generally fine, and I can usually check train times or buy tickets without much hassle. That said, lately it feels like there’s always something going on, whether it’s a delay, a cancelled train, or a platform change right at the last minute. I know delays can happen and it’s not always their fault, but it does get stressful when you miss connections and the information isn’t very clear. Customer service was okay when I contacted them, just not especially helpful. So I wouldn’t say the whole service is awful, but it really needs to be more reliable.

"Felt a Bit Rushed and Talked Down To"
The planning part was fine overall, and I appreciated that things were organized. But when it came to the transfers, it sometimes felt way too rushed, like I was being pushed along without much room to ask questions. A couple of times, the way things were explained made me feel talked down to, which was frustrating. It wasn’t a terrible experience, but it definitely could’ve been handled with more patience

"Pretty decent, but stations can be a bit confusing"
bahn.de is generally fine and I can usually figure out what I need, more or less. The only thing is the station info and directions aren’t always super clear. Sometimes it says certain facilities are there, but when you’re actually at the station, they can be weirdly hard to find. It works okay overall, but it could definitely be a little easier to navigate

"Better train coffee than I expected"
I took a DB train yesterday and, i always kind of assume the bistro will be just okay at best. But this time it was actually nice. The coffee was hot, the sandwich tasted fresh enough, and the guy working there was friendly too. It definitely made the long ride feel a bit easier
